Well everybody just a quick update for ya. I am quite sure everybody knows already about Jay Cutler goin to the Bears. I honestly never saw that coming. The Broncos whom I thought might be a contender this year with some of the additions they got, now think they may be a team who may not even make the playoffs. I mean Orton is a decent quarterback but no where near Cutler and I doubt he will lead them very far. The Bears however now look like a playoff team. I think they will possibly win the division as their competion is not very strong at all. The Vikings in my opinion are the only ones who may give them a good run if Tavaris Jackson steps it up.

Hello, sorry havnt posted anything for a couple days Ive been busy but will do more posts here soon. I am having trouble with my computer but if anything big happens I will try and post it right away.

Well to start things off NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is talking about the idea of making the season even longer by adding an additional game or two. This is just one of the ideas being brought up at the meeting. Also reports say Tony Gonzales wants to be traded despite the Chiefs saying they want to keep him in Kansas City.

The man hit and killed by Browns reciever Donte Stallworth was reportedly not in the crosswalk when he was hit. Stallworth states he flashed his headlights to warn the man and police say Stallworth was driving between 40-50 mph. Donte signed a 7 yr 35 million dollar contract last season and was scheduled to recieve his 4.75 million signing bonus the day after the accident.

Charles Rogers, an ex-Lions reciever who was taken with the number 2 pick in the 2003 draft was arrested for violating his probation in his domestic violence case. Rogers career has been ended by injuries he has only played in 15 games since being drafted 6 years ago.

Well in signings today the Bears signed offensive tackle Kevin Shaffer to a 3 yr deal. The Bears who lost two offensive lineman in FA hope to add a little more depth at the position. Shaffer has started 47 games for the Cleveland Browns the past 3 seasons. Finally, the Jets locked up a deal with CB Donald Strickland. This should help the Jets secondary with ranked 29th in the league last season.

The New York Jets have reportedly contacted the Denver Broncos saying that they would be interested in trading for the unhappy Jay Cutler. Denver has said that they would like to try and work things out with the pro-bowl quarterback before any trades will be reviewed, as they would love to have him back next season. I myself think Cutler would be a good fit with the Jets as they are trying to improve their offense. I myself am not a Jets fan but think if Cutler goes anywhere this is where he would end up.
Also, the Detroit Lions have been talking about contract with possible 1st round draft pick Matthew Stafford. It is believed he could be taken with the 1st pick as the Lions try and upgrade their offense after that 0-16 season they suffered last season.
Terrell Owens misses the teams first voluntary workout, which really doesnt surprise me. Also, DT Shaun Cody signed a 3 year deal with the Houston Texans today. I also found out that the first game of the NFL season will be September 10th and will be defending SB champions Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the Tennessee Titans. The Thanksgiving games will consist of the Oakland Raiders taking on the Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions, and finally the New York Giants taking on the Denver Broncos.
Finally in some baseball new pitcher Curt Schilling has decided to call it quits. Schilling played 20 seasons in the major leagues with 3 different teams. He started out with the Phillies, then went on to win a World Series with the Arizona Diamondbacks, he spent his last 5 seasons with the Boston Red Sox where he won 2 World Series one in 04 and the other in 07. He had 3, 20 win seasons and finished his career with a 216-146 record pitching in 83 complete games. He had a 3.46 ERA and 3,116 Ks and was a 6 time all star.

Well again not to much going on in the NFL the past couple of days. The Miami Dolphins traded C Samson Satele to the Oakland Raiders for a 6th round draft pick. The two teams will also swap picks at some point in the draft as part of the deal. Satele started all 32 games the past two seasons for the Dolphins and is a former University of Hawaii star who was drafted in the second round of the 2007 draft. The coaches beieved he wasnt strong enough for his position and wanted an upgrade in which they believe they recieved when they signed former Raiders C Grove this offseason.

In other news Raiders tackle Cornell Green was arrested yesterday in a domestic abuse charge in Florida. If I missed anything or left anything out let me know, if there is any big news I will post right away.

Well it was a quiet day in the NFL so not much news today. The Detroit Lions however, are planning on retiring the missing player Corey Smiths number this season. Smith was one of three players whos body was never recovered after the boat they were fishing on tipped in the ocean just off the shores of Florida three weeks ago.

Well for right now I am only going to do updates and news from the NFL until I am a little better at doing this. So here is some of the news that has happened in the NFL today.

First off the Vikings have signed CB Cedric Griffin to a contract extension which included 1.62 million guaranteed. It is likely he will recieve more due to the fact that he is a very talented player and one of the top players in his position in the league.

Well, my Philadelphia Eagles who have had a quiet offseason signed FB Leonard Weaver to a 1 year deal. Weaver spent his first four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks was very underuses as many fullbacks in the league are. Weaver is very versatile and will give the Eagles a much needed blocker in the backfield.

Then theres the Patriots who have been busy this off season signing another big name player in Joey Galloway. The 37 year old reciever will line up with Randy Moss giving the Patriots one of best WR tandems as they are only two of nine active recievers with 10,000 or more recieving yards in their career. Galloway has a 15.7 ypr career average, terms of this deal have not yet been disclosed.

The Saints also cut CB Mike McKenzie who is 32 yrs old and has spent the last 5 years with the team after coming to the team in a 2005 trade with the Packers. Finally, the Cardinals signed offensive lineman Elton Brown to a 1 year deal. Brown played in all 16 games and the postseason for the team and is a 4 year veteran.
